The 35th Annual Great Hollister Easter Egg Hunt will be taking place Saturday, April 3, at the Hollister High School football stadium.
The gates at the stadium will open at 11:30 a.m. and the hunt will begin at 1 p.m..
“Rather than having the bounce houses, the YMCA will provide a fun obstacle course for the kids and members of the planning committee have designed a scavenger hunt on the premises,” Event Chair Tiffany Stevens said in a statement. “Ronzo the Clown will be available to make balloon sculptures using an air pump rather than blowing up the balloons. Concessions will be available for purchase but ordering and serving areas will be located outside of the stadium to avoid congestion. We have reconfigured the event so that everyone can feel comfortable participating.”
The Hunt will take place in four categories: Ages 1-3, 4-5, 6-8, and 9-11. The hunts will be staggere to allow for maximum distancing on the field. Ages 1-5 hunt at 1, 6-8 at 1:20 and 9-11 at 1:40.
The Easter Bunny will make a grand entry at 12:30 p.m. on a truck from the Western Taney County Fire Protection District. Diskey the Wonder Dog, the Hollister Elementary Cub Choir, and Impact Martial Arts will provide pre-hunt entertainment.
Children may bring their own baskets, with bags being provided to any child who needs one.
“We are fortunate to have a wide variety of generous sponsors who make this event possible each year for area children,” Hollister Chamber of Commerce Chairman John Hagey said. “Our chamber is dedicated to serving the community in a variety of ways and this is a great event for families to enjoy a fun, free time together.”
The event is free and will take place rain or shine.
