King To Appear in Court Monday on New Year’s Eve Slayings
The man accused of stabbing a woman and her child to death on New Year’s Eve is scheduled to appear in court Monday for a bond hearing.
Brandon C. King, 29, is accused of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and a dozen other charges related to the killing of 32-year-old Stephanie Plumb and 13-year-old Dylan Moore.
Plumb and Moore were stabbed to death at a home in the 2000 block of West Scott in Springfield on December 31, while 14-year-old and 7-year-old girls suffered severe injuries.
Witnesses saw King fleeing from the scene with blood on his clothing. Neighbors rushed to help the 14-year-old and 7-year-old until police and EMT arrived on the scene.
