Drury guard Conley Garrison was named the Player of the Week in the Great Lakes Valley Conference for his performance in two games during the week of Dec. 13-20.
After their first five games were postponed due to complications with the COVID-19 virus, the Panthers finally opened the season last week, and Garrison averaged 25.5 points, 7.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in their two contests. The senior from Bolivar shot .571 from the field, going 16 for 28, and he was 8 for 15 from three-point range for a .533 percentage.
Garrison opened the year with 25 points, nine assists, and two steals in Friday’s season-opening game against Missouri S&T. He followed up with 26 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in a 90-84 win at Lindenwood on Sunday.
The award marks the third time Garrison has won the league’s weekly award. He earned the honor on Dec. 11, 2019, and Dec. 10, 2018.
The Panthers are 1-1 and return to action on Jan. 3 when they host Maryville for 3 pm game at the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
