Springfield Contemporary Theatre Announces December and January Shows

Springfield Contemporary Theatre announced Wednesday two new productions for the winter months.

In December, the troupe will present “SCT Sings the Holiday Hits.” The show will ring in the holidays with both traditional and new holiday songs in a show featuring SCT’s best vocalists.

SCT’s Music Director Alex Huff will lead a band that will back all the vocalists.

Vocalists interested in auditioning for the show can find audition information on the SCT website.

In January, SCT will host “Fugitive Songs” directed by Rick Dines, with music directed by Alex Huff.

The show is about a disgruntled Subway sandwich artist, a jilted ex-cheerleader, two Patty Hearst fans, and a stoner who was forced to rob a convenience store. Mixing traditional folk music with pop and gospel, the show presents a “new sound for a restless America.”

Those interested in auditioning for the show can also visit the SCT website.
