The Greene County Commission has opened applications for the first phase of CARES Act Relief Funds.
The applications will be taken online through the Greene County website. The applications, designed internally by the county IS department, will be under the “general information” tab within the “CARES Act Relief Fund” button on the website’s main navigation.
After registration on the site, a set of fillable fields outlining specific needs and expenses can be entered with other financial information. Once all information has been entered, a confirmation email will be generated for the user.
Applications will be accepted according to the following schedule:
- Not-for-profit/Community organizations – July 13-16
- Health care – July 16-21
- Small businesses – July 21-24
- Education – July 23-28
- Taxpayer supported entities – July 28-31
The process will remain open until all funds are allocated.
“We understand there is much anticipation in the community regarding this application process and we have been working as diligently and quickly as possible to make this available. The Greene County Information Systems Department has done a phenomenal job creating this system,” CARES Act Grants Administrator Lyle Foster said in a statement. “In addition, we are committed to processing and reviewing these applications in a timely manner to ensure these funds benefit our community in the way the program is intended.”
Anyone who would like to know the general fund guidelines before beginning any application can view information from the Department of the Treasury under the “CARES Act Relief Fund” tab on the county website.
