Mother’s Brewing Cancels “Mother’s Day Festival”

Springfield based Mother’s Brewing Company has announced the cancellation of a milestone anniversary celebration because of the COVID-19 lockdown.

The “Mother’s Day Festival” was going to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brewer. A full day of live music, beer samples, and food were planned for Saturday, May 9.

“We want nothing more than to share a drink with you in our backyard, while we rock out to some tunes, but we know that now is not the time,” Mother’s Brewing officials posted on social media in announcing the cancellation.

Anyone who purchased a ticket to the event will be receiving a full refund.

The company posted a very honest social media message Thursday following the city and county’s announcements that they will not be able to open their taproom until June. The company said “we’re really hurting” in a social media post and asked their customers to order product online for pickup at their facility on South Grant near downtown Springfield.
