Move over, Ozark High School Baseball. You’re no longer the only Hall of Fame program in the Ozark School District.
The cheer program for Ozark High School has been inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame with the 2020 class, the first cheer program in the state of Missouri to earn the honor.
“Ozark Cheer has set the bar for high school cheer in this area, if not the state,” Ozark High School Athletic Director Yancey Little said in a statement. “The success wouldn’t be possible without the coaches, dedicated athletes and parents. They put a lot of time, money and effort in. And it pays off because Ozark finishes in the top year after year.”
Ozark’s program has been one of the state’s most successful with a total of seven state championships, most recently in 2018. The program had a run between 2011 and 2015 where they finished with two state titles, two state runner-up finishes and one third place finish.
