The City of Springfield’s Forward SGF speaker series is hosting a talk Tuesday night about global trends and their impact on the development of communities.
The online talk will take place at 6:30 p.m. and feature Brad Segal, president of Progressive Urban Management Associates, along with Springfield’s Director of Quality of Place Initiatives Tim Rosenbury. Segal has been a consultant to downtown Springfield on multiple occasions and be sharing his perspective on placemaking.
“The growing importance of mobility systems, arts and culture, ecology and how we work and innovate, and social equity are all even more important now as we seek to conquer the pandemic and become a better country,” Segal said in a statement. “This is good news for especially mid-size “opportunity cities” (like Springfield) that provide affordable housing and lifestyle opportunities.”
The goal of the talk will be to tie Forward SGF to a wide range of topics and national trends to move the comprehensive planning process ahead as it passes the one year mark.
“City leaders and consultants want to continue to encourage participation and input as recommendations and strategies are formulated to guide the City’s growth and prosperity over the course of the next 20 years,” the city said in a statement.
