Over 50 members of the Springfield Police Department lined up to provide a corridor to Morgan Walsh to walk through on her first “first day of school” without her father. Officer Christopher Walsh gave his life trying to save a shooting victim in the Kum-N-Go shooting in March.
“Welcome back to school, Morgan Walsh. You are so courageous and strong,” the SPD wrote on social media while sharing a photo of the moment.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office also made sure that another fallen officer’s daughter had people around her as they lined up at the door of Fremont Elementary to welcome Lydia Roberts.
Roberts is the daughter of Deputy Aaron Roberts who died in the line of duty on September 7, 2018.
