Two Arrested in Shooting at Club Rodeo

Springfield police rushed to Club Rodeo early Sunday morning in response to calls about a disturbance and arrived in time to see a shooting in the parking lot.

According to SPD officials, the officers heard and saw the gunman in the southeastern part of the parking lot firing his weapon. Police say that one person was hit in the elbow with a non-life-threatening wound and a parked car was also hit by the gunfire.

The alledged shooter attempted to leave in a Dodge Charger but officers were able to stop the car at Kansas Expressway and Bennett Street, taking the driver and shooter into custody.

SPD Spokeswoman Jasmine Bailey said the suspects are on 24 hour hold at the Greene County Jail pending charges.
