In the latest release of COVID-19 related inmates at the Greene County Jail, a significant drop has been found in the number of inmates positive for the disease.
The number of inmates as of Friday afternoon positive for COVID-19 was 73, 17 less than the previous report. Only two inmates were showing symptoms of the disease, with 10 inmates awaiting test results.
Two inmates have had to be hospitalized this week.
Three more staff members have been confirmed to be positive for the virus, and four have pending tests, but seven staff members have now been cleared and are returning to work.
The jail has been doing contact tracing for any inmate or staff members who tests positive for the virus.
