While the national Democratic party is holding their virtual national convention to officially nominate Joe Biden for the Presidency, local Greene County Democrats met to determine who will be leading them into the next season.
The local party members voted unanimously Tuesday night to elect former candidate for State Representative Tyler Gunlock as their Chairperson.
“In the face of the national and historic challenge to the safety and prosperity of our nation that is the Trump and Parson administrations, I am honored to lead our County’s efforts to elect Democrats and start the work of getting our state back on track,” Gunlock said in his acceptance speech.
Missouri House Minority Leader Crystal Quade expressed her pleasure over Gunlock’s election as Chair.
“”I am thrilled that the Greene County Democrats have selected Tyler Gunlock as County Chair,” Quade said in a statement. “A former candidate and an avid community leader, Tyler knows exactly how to dig in and do the work to see change. This is going to be a great year for Democrats and I am excited to see Tyler leading our county forward.””
The party also elected Lanae Gillespie as Vice Chair, Isabelle Walker as Secretary, and outgoing Chair and state house candidate Wes Zongker as Treasurer.
