The Branson Board of Aldermen voted unanimously during a special meeting Tuesday to appoint Julia King to the open Ward 3 Alderman seat.
King takes the seat formerly held by Kevin McConnell, who resigned on August 7, 2020, because he had moved outside of the ward and was no longer eligible to serve.
King was chosen by Mayor Edd Akers from a list of applicants per state law. The board then votes on the person chosen by the mayor without the mayor voting.
King works for Healthcare Performance Group as a project manager.
King will be sworn in on August 25, 2020, at the regular Board of Alderman meeting.
