The Springfield School Board approved phase one and two of a project to reconfigure Hillcrest High School.
The combined phases will cost approximately $30 million and both contracts were given to Nabholz Construction to streamline both phases being built at the same time.
The decision came during a special meeting Thursday to focus on bond projects.
The combination of the phases is expected to have a significant impact on the length of time the school will be under construction. It also eliminates the possibility that the first phase is done and the second won’t be able to be completed because of bond issues.
The Board also approved an on-site program with Boys and Girls Club and Williams Elementary along with a construction bid for Williams Elementary, which should be the final completed school.
