Springfield-Greene County Library Announces Virtual Events

The Springfield-Greene County Library has announced a series of virtual events during the week of August 3.

The first event on Monday, August 3, the library is hosting Exploring Genealogy presented by the Ozarks Genealogical Society.

The topic for the session is Find A Grave. Carmen Boyd will be holding the virtual session about the internet site that allows people to research burial information, tombstone photos and other leads for finding an ancestor.

The free program starts at 7 p.m. on the Ozarks Genealogical Society Facebook page.

Tuesday, August 4, the library will be hosting a storytime for children up to age 6. The session starts at 10 a.m. on the Library’s website.

The children’s librarians will read stories, help sing songs, and provide activities that children and parents can do together at home.

The final of the virtual events for the week is “Hunted and Haunted: A Conversation with Stephen Graham Jones” on Thursday, August 6.

The author will be holding a virtual conversation to talk about his latest novel “The Only Good Indians,” a story of “revenge, cultural identity, and a past that won’t die.”

The event starts at 7 p.m. and is free. The link to the event will be on the Library’s website.
