The Springfield-Greene County Health Department Thursday afternoon announced the third death in the month of July from COVID-19.
The deceased was a man in his 80s who was immunocompromised. He was not associated with any local long-care term facility. He is the 10th confirmed death from COVID-19.
The county has one death considered to be “probable” as being caused by COVID-19, leaving the “total deaths” count at 11.
The death announcement comes with an update from the SCGHD of 1,160 laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19.
SGCHD officials report 495 active cases in the county, with 66 that have required hospitalization as of 4 p.m. on July 30. Thirteen were in ICU, with 11 patients on ventilators.
