Springfield Contemporary Theatre Making Virtual Return

Springfield Contemporary Theatre announced they will be coming back in a virtual way with an online presentation of their SCT Sings series.

SCT Sings has been a part of the theatre since 2018 and features many of the theatre’s most popular singers and performers. The virtual production will come from recordings made at the SCT’s Wilhoit Plaza.

Fascinating Rhythms: A Taste of SCT Sings will debut Sunday, August 9th, at 7:30 p.m. on the SCT YouTube Channel.

The performances will have songs from past productions along with performances that would have been part of the canceled SCT Sings Burt Bacharach concert.

Performances include special segments with Erica Spyres recorded in New York and Kassie Carroll Downey in Oklahoma. Other artists include: Renee Elkady, Lavelle Johnston, Derrick DeVonne King, Johnnie Angelia King, Kelly Osborne, Carol Reinert, Dillon Savage, Erin Schiebe, Ali Smith, Todd Smith, and Darby Vincent.

The concert serves both as a thank you for supporters who helped the Family First fundraising campaign to keep SCT running during the COVID-19 lockdown and as a fundraiser for SCT in the future. Underwriting for the event is provided by Jeff & Donna Carney and the Missouri Arts Council.
