A woman has announced the filing of a lawsuit against the City of Springfield related to the requirements that citizens wear a mask in public locations.
“I have filed a lawsuit against the City of Springfield, the Mayor and the seven individual city council members that voted for the ordinance,” Rachel Shelton posted on Facebook. “This is YOUR city and I know you want to help fight for our freedom. If we don’t stand up NOW what freedom will they take next?”
Shelton said she will be holding a press conference with her attorney Kristi Fulnecky at Springfield’s City Hall at noon Thursday about the suit. She asks for financial help to keep the lawsuit moving forward.
A city spokesman told OI that they have not seen the lawsuit and therefore could not comment.
Here is a video Shelton posted on Facebook about the suit.
