Two men are under arrest in connection with a series of robberies in the Springfield area.
The Springfield Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office had been investigating a spree of commercial robberies that included:
- July 12, 2020, Fast-N-Friendly at 1451 N. Kansas Expressway
- July 12, 2020, Casey’s at 4124 W. Chestnut Expressway

- July 14, 2020, Kum & Go at 5343 S. Campbell
- July 16, 2020, Jump Stop at 2101 S. Glenstone
On July 15, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery at Fireworks Supermarket on West Independence. Using information gathered from that robbery in conjunction with information obtained from SPD on previous robberies, they arrested 17-year-old Noah Risenhoover of Springfield the following day.
A day after the Risenhoover arrest, July 17, Springfield Police were called to the Kum & Go at 620 North National after a 911 call about a robbery. A handgun had been fired at a witness who was not injured and gave officers a description of the robbers’ vehicle.
A Greene County Deputy spotted the vehicle and initiated pursuit when the vehicle would not stop. One suspect fled the vehicle during the pursuit and was caught on foot by a Greene County Deputy. The driver continued to flee until crashing at Pershing and 9th Avenue. That second suspect surrendered after a standoff at 914 West Walnut.
The two suspects arrested were Tyler M. Martin, 23, and Timothy J. Barnett, 18, both from Springfield.
All three suspects have been linked to the robbery spree.
Detectives continue investigating the incidents and ask anyone with information to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810.
