Branson Alderman McConnell Resigns

Branson Ward III Alderman Kevin McConnell has announced his resignation effective August 7, 2020.

McConnell said that he is moving out of the ward, and therefore under city code will be ineligible to serve in his current capacity.

“It was a pleasure serving the City of Branson,” McConnell said in his resignation letter.

McConnell has been on the Board for three years and was serving a term that ended in April 2021.

A replacement will be appointed by Mayor Edd Akers. Applications for the position can be made by any qualifying full-time resident of Ward III. The chosen applicant will need to run for re-election in April 2021.

Applications for the position is open and will be open until July 24. The application and more information is available on the City of Branson website.
