Greene County Presiding Commissioner Named to State Workforce Initiative Task Force

Greene County’s presiding commissioner is going to be spending a lot of his free time working for the state.

Commissioner Bob Dixon is joining a state task force that will be examining the public workforce system to see if it’s providing the best service for the citizens of Missouri.

“This is a transformational project and I am honored to be a part of helping to advise on strategies to meet the needs of jobseekers both locally and across our state,” Dixon said in a statement. “I look forward to what this group will be able to do to move our state forward and shape the future of our job centers.”

The Job Centers of the Future Task Force is looking to “develop and drive activities to help job seekers and the role of the state’s job centers.” The task force will look at ways they can enhance what’s working for the state in helping job seekers, and revamping programs that are not meeting desired goals.

The group will meet with the 14 workforce development boards in the state to share ideas, provide insights, and solicit feedback.
