Police Remove White Nationalist Banner from Overpass at Kansas & Division

A white nationalist group hung a banner on an overpass at Kansas Expressway and Division Sunday afternoon that was removed by Springfield police officers.

Springfield Police Acting Lt. Tonya Price told OI the banner stated “Revolution is Tradition” and also carried the words “Patriot Front US”.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, the Patriot Front is a white supremacist group whose members believe their ancestors conquered America and left the country solely to their group. They promote racism and anti-Semitism as a way of protecting the “ethnic and cultural origins” of their ancestors.

The banner was removed with the assistance of the Springfield Fire Department and is currently in evidence with the Springfield Police Department.

No suspects have been captured in connection with the illegal hanging of the banner.
