Springfield’s Wonders of Wildlife is one of ten aquatic facilities across the nation competing for the title of “America’s Best Aquarium.”
The poll, being conducted by USA Today, will run through Monday, July 6, and anyone can vote one time per day.
“We are humbled and honored that Wonders of Wildlife has the chance to be named America’s Best Aquarium and bring enormous pride to our hometown of Springfield, Missouri and a source of inspiration to conservationists everywhere,” Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris said in a press statement. “Wonders of Wildlife represents the collective efforts of countless individuals and organizations who share a strong passion for conservation. Together we hope that this will be a win for everyone who loves the great outdoors.”
Wonders of Wildlife was conceived by Morris as a gift to the sportsmen and sportswomen of America. Over three million guests have visited the facility since 2017.
The museum is the largest, most immersive fish and wildlife attraction in the world. There are 1.5 miles of trails inside the building, with a 1.5 million gallon Aquarium Adventure. There are over 35,000 live fish, mammals, reptiles and birds on display.
Springfield’s History Museum on the Square recently won “America’s Best New Attraction” from 10Best, the same group running the voting for America’s Best Aquarium.
