The Ash Grove Area Community Foundation has become the 50th regional affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.
The AGACF has raised $30,000 to start a permanent endowment with CFO and officially became the 50th affiliate on May 29, 2020. The donations establish the grant fund that is dedicated to benefitting the Ash Grove area.
“We know that the people of Ash Grove love living here, and they believe in this town,” Board President Tyler Gunlock said in a statement. “The community foundation is just one of the good things happening here. We received gifts from about 70 donors in the Ash Grove community. Having a strong board and so many people behind us will prove beneficial in the long run.”
The founding board of the AGACF includes: Jason Whitesell, Vice President; Rachel Griffin, Secretary; Mike Roberts, Treasurer; Pat Cook; Austin Houp; Ryan Squibb; Chris Thompson; and Ronessa Williams.
The group’s qualification means they will receive a $30,000 grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health, which will be providing $6,000 a year over five years for grantmaking related to health care needs in Ash Grove.
The CFO affiliate program began in 1993 in Nixa and is now impacting 58 counties south of the Missouri River.
“We know that when a rural community establishes an affiliate foundation, the community grows stronger because of it,” Brian Fogle, president and CEO of the CFO, said in a statement. “By establishing the Ash Grove Area Community Foundation, the community is making an investment in itself that will pay dividends for many years to come.”
Donations to the fund can be made through the group’s website.
