Springfield Central High Schools’ Math Team online efforts added up to a 14th place finish in the Math League National Championship.
The event was held online for the first time in its history and featured 75 schools across the nation that qualified for the national championship competition.
“The competition was really tough this year,” Ellen Hunter, math team co-chair, said in a statement. “We are proud of our team and proud of the students for taking the time to compete online during their summer break.”
While the team placed 14th in the nation overall, two students finished in the top 10 for the USA, including one who won the national title: Raghav Bansal won the title for 9th grade, and Dylan Fowler placed 10th for 12th grade.
