The Foundation for Springfield Public Schools is launching the Ready! Set! Supply! campaign to collect the necessary items to help thousands of students who need assistance with school supplies.
This year’s campaign is going to be a little different than in previous years, as personal protection items like face masks and hand sanitizer.
“School supplies are a big expense for families during a regular school year,” Dr. Bret Range, executive director of student services, said in a statement. “This year, with the additional supplies needed to keep everyone safe and healthy, it will add to the financial burden of many families.”
The drive is asking for donations of the following items by August 1 so they can be sorted for each school:
- Notebook paper (college and wide ruled)
- Comp books (college and wide ruled)
- Crayola crayons (24 count)
- Crayola markers (10 count)
- Hand sanitizer
- Disposable face masks
- Clorox wipes
“We are very fortunate to have so many generous partners and community members who support our students each year,” Range said. “Having the supplies they need helps students start the school year on a positive note.”
