A music instructor in the Nixa school district is gaining national attention thanks to the Recording Academy.
Blake Richter has been named one of 216 national quarterfinalists for the 2021 Music Educator award by the Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Museum. The quarterfinalists were narrowed down from a nomination list of 2,000 educators.
The Music Educator Award is given to current educators who “have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools.”
The winner will be announced at the 2021 GRAMMY awards in Los Angeles.
