Fundraiser Brings in Thousands for Injured SPD Officer

A group of motorcyclists and Jeep owners came together Sunday for a benefit ride in honor of Springfield Police Officer Mark Priebe.

The ride organized by Vintage Biker Gear of Springfield brought in $4,000 to help Officer Priebe and his family as he recovers from injuries related to an assailant striking the officer with his vehicle last Tuesday.

The Priebe family posted video of the motorcyclists and Jeep enthusiasts who were part of the ride today on the “Prayers for Priebe” Facebook page:

Another fundraiser is taking place Monday morning from 6 to 11 a.m. in the parking lot of Battlefield Mall. The “Doughnut Drive” is giving a coupon for a Krispy Kreme doughnut and Coffee for every ten dollar donation to help Officer Priebe.

Officer Priebe’s wife Heather posted on Facebook that Craig Rehab in Colorado, one of the nation’s leading rehabs for injuries like Officer Priebe’s, has accepted him as a patient and he will soon be transferring to their care.
