The Republic Ministerial Alliance is working with the city of Republic and police officials to hold a prayer vigil and service Wednesday night for Officer Mark Priebe, injured in an attack outside the Springfield Police Station on Tuesday morning.
The vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at The Amp at J.R. Martin Park, 300 East Hines, in Republic.
The focus of the event is prayer for Mark as he goes through surgeries and other medical procedures; his wife Heather, their children, and their extended family.
Priebe, a 21-year-veteran of the department, is known throughout the world for his efforts with Special Olympics. He represented the state of Missouri at the 2019 world Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi, and has been the driving force behind the Law Enforcement Torch Run since 2007.
Anyone who has questions about tonight’s event should contact the Republic Ministerial Alliance.
