Former Nixa Football Coach Takes Reins at Springfield Catholic

When the Fighting Irish take the field this fall, they’ll have a new coach calling the shots.

Former Nixa coach Rich Rehagen, who announced his departure from the Nixa program in December, will be taking over as the team’s new head coach.

Rehagen was the winningest coach in Nixa history, posting an 80-57 record and taking the Eagles to their only state championship appearance in 2014. He led the program to the state final four in 2009, 2011, 2014, and 2015.

The Springfield Catholic coaching position became available when Steve Hancock took a position in Branson.

Catholic finished 6-4 with a loss in the first round of districts last season.
