“Eating disorders are among the most common – and the most dangerous – of any mental illness,” Program Coordinator Stephanie Robbins said in a statement. “Thankfully, they are also treatable. We’re fortunate to have professional with experience in treating eating disorders ready and available to help adolescents and adults struggling with these issues.”

Once a patient becomes part of the RecoverED program, they will have care from professionals including licensed clinicians, a registered dietitian, group therapy, and psychiatry.

Studies show that eating disorders impact 10 percent of the population and have the highest mortality rate of all mental illnesses. One person dies from an eating disorder every 62 minutes.

Studies also show that 80 percent of those who seek help for eating disorders are able to improve significantly in their struggle with the disease.
