Second Great Clips Stylist Positive for COVID-19; 56 More Customers Potentially Exposed

A second hairstylist from the Great Clips at 1864 South Glenstone has tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19.

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department released information Saturday afternoon on a second stylist who worked at Great Clips while “experiencing very mild symptoms” and was “potentially” infectious.

The stylist worked the following schedule:

  • Saturday, May 16 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Sunday, May 17 (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Monday, May 18 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, May 19 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, May 20 (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

Both the stylist and their customers were wearing face coverings, which should lessen the risk of transmission to the customers. According to the Health Department, 56 clients could have been exposed and are being offered testing by the Health Department.

The full exposure list from the two stylists at the Great Clips location is:

  • Tuesday, May 12 (8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, May 13 (8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
  • Thursday, May 14 (12 p.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Friday, May 15 (1 p.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Saturday, May 16 (8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Sunday, May 17 (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Monday, May 18 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, May 19 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, May 20 (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.)

The Health department says anyone not deemed a “close contact” during those times but were in the location are deemed to be “very low risk” but should watch for symptoms of COVID-19. Anyone deemed a “close contact” will have been contacted directly by the Health Department.
