Springfield Public Schools is looking to follow record setting attendance in its summer program with an completely online offering because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
SPS’s “Explore” program welcomed over 13,000 students last year, a record for the program, which combined both online classes and in-person learning experiences. Now, this year, “Explore” becomes “Explore To Go” and the entire program enters the digital space.
The first session, June 3-30, will be for students from grades 1 to 12. Students who are taking high school classes will be able to earn a maximum of 2 credits during the summer, with a 1/2 credit being issued every two weeks of the courses.
Classes that have less than 12 students could be closed because of low enrollment.
While the program is taking place, breakfast and lunch will be provided for students at designated sites; that information will be provided to registered students.
If you have a student to register for Explore To Go, visit the website or call for more information, 417-523-4747.
