The Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park announced their reopening after the COVID-19 lockdown, this Friday, May 22.
The atrium, front desk, gift shop, and restrooms at the center will reopen on a modified schedule:
- Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
While the center will be open, they will not be allowing meetings, rentals, or classes inside the facility.
The sensory garden at the park, which was open briefly last fall, will reopen for the summer starting Saturday, May 23.
The Japanese Stroll Garden will remain closed to the public until at least mid-June. The county used the lockdown and stay-at-home orders as a time to make repairs to the facility including new walkways and turf repairs.
More information on the park can be found online.
