City Utilities Warns of Disconnection Scam

City Utilities of Springfield is warning customers of a phone scam where customers are told to make an immediate payment or their services will be disconnected.

The utility has suspended disconnections due to non-payment through July 6, 2020 because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Anyone who receives one of these calls is advised to not give out any personal information and to immediately hang up the phone. They should then call City Utilities at 417-863-9000 to report the call and provide any possible information.

CU is asking anyone having trouble paying their bills because of the COVID outbreak to call and talk with them about payment options.
