Honor Flight of the Ozarks Cancels All 2020 Flights

Honor Flight of the Ozarks announced late Monday night the cancellation of all their scheduled flights for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officials with Honor Flight said the move was made out of concern for the health and safety of “high risk aging veterans.” They plan to resume flights in 2021 in May, August, and October.

The group also announced the cancellation of their Greatest Generations Gala for 2020, with the next Gala scheduled for March 21, 2021.

The group has flown over 2,160 veterans without charge to to their memorials in Washington, D.C. as a way to honor and salute them for their service to the nation. The group must raise over $450,000 a year to cover the costs of their three flights to Washington, D.C..
