The Springfield-Greene County Health Department announced Wednesday a new case of COVID-19 where a patient causes a potential public exposure.
SGCHD officials say the new case was showing symptoms while they shopped at the Walmart location at 1923 East Kearney in Springfield on May 10, 2020, around 5 p.m..
Anyone who was at the store during that time is at low risk for COVID-19, but should be on alert for showing the symptoms of the disease:
- shortness of breath,
- muscle pain,
- sore throat
- and new loss of taste or smell.
If symptoms do develop, seek medical attention by contacting your primary care provider. If you do not have a primary care provider, contact your local health department.
SGCHD officials say that the more the area reopens after the lockdown, it’s vital for anyone showing signs of illness to remain in their homes and not visit public locations.
