Ozark School District Names Three New Administrators

The Ozark school district will be heading into the 2020-2021 school year with new administrators at the helm of three schools.

The Ozark Board of Education voted to hire Dr. Gina McBain as principal of West Elementary; Dr. Erin McAninch as assistant principal of Ozark High School; and Karen Capel as assistant principal of East Elementary.

“I am excited to see the vision and leadership come to life with these three individuals,” Ozark Superintendent Dr. Chris Bauman said in a statement. “Dr. McBain has done amazing things and I’m excited to see her continue these initiatives as principal. Dr. McAninch has been an integral part of our high school teaching staff for several years and will be outstanding in her new role. Ms. Capen is joining us from Nixa where her experience as an elementary instructional coach will serve her well at East Elementary.”

Dr. McBain has been serving as interim head of West Elementary since January 2020. She joined the district as teacher and special education coordinator in 2001.

Dr. McAninch joined the Ozark school district in 2002 as a mathematics teacher.

Capen comes to Ozark from Nixa, where she served since 2006 as a teacher and math specialist.
