Nixa Mayor Brian Steele has released the “Nixa Strong Recovery” plan, which will include a mix of eased restrictions on businesses and residents along with updated changes to city services.
The plan goes into effect on May 4 and will remain in effect until the end of the day May 31, 2020.
“This is intended as an important next step towards reopening our local economy, while maintaining important health and safety precautionary measures which we believe to be appropriate based on the advice of local healthcare leaders,” Mayor Steele said in a statement.
The order calls for residents to continue social distancing through the end of May regardless of where they go. If you have to do something job related that requires you to be less than 6 feet from others, wear personal protective gear like masks and gloves.
Schools must remain closed but teachers, parents, and students will be allowed inside to retrieve personal belongings or do necessary work to support virtual learning efforts.
