Springfield-Greene County Health Department Opens COVID 19 Testing to Essential Workers

If you’ve been working outside your home for the last month as an “essential worker,” you will be able to get testing for COVID-19 free even if you are not showing symptoms.

Springfield-Greene County Health Department Head Clay Goddard announced the testing during a Tuesday press conference. He said that the county has initially set aside 200 tests for those essential workers.

“I’m talking about grocery store employees, gas station clerks, restaurant workers, and others,” Goddard said. “There will be no cost and no requirement for symptoms.”

Goddard said people can sign up for testing by calling 417-874-1209, Monday through Friday from 8 to 5, and no physician referral is not required for testing.
