Virtual Artsfest Will Raise Funds for Artists Impacted by COVID-19 Lockdown

The Springfield Regional Arts Council is keeping the spirit of Artsfest alive even if they can’t bring thousands of people together on Walnut Street.

SRAC will be hosting Virtual Artsfest from May 1st through May 7th.

“Area artists and performers rely on festival income,” SRAC Executive Director Leslie Forrester said in a statement. “With Artsfest’s postponement until fall, we saw the need to find ways to support artists and their creativity virtually. This will be a great way for our community to rally for the arts with the same festive spirit as they would during our annual spring event.”

The Virtual Artsfest will have a $5 ticket with a portion of the proceeds being placed into an arts relief fund that will be managed by SRAC. Ticket holders will gain access to online music performances, a list of participating artists’ websites, virtual artist studio tours and demos, art downloads, and more.

All ticket holders will also be entered into a drawing for prizes including original artwork.

Tickets are available online at the Springfield Artsfest website starting on May 1.
