Parents in the Ozark school district won’t have to worry about making sure their student’s lunch debts are paid off prior to the next school year.
The Ozark School District announced Tuesday that the Ozark Utopia Club paid almost $2,000 to pay off all school lunch balances within the district.
“We thought this would be a good way to spend some of our money,” Utopia Club President Kay Johnson said in a statement. “Now the kids can start out the school year debt-free.”
Two Utopia Club officers are former Ozark teachers who said they “have a soft spot for kids and schools.”
The Ozark Utopia Club is a charity organization that raises their yearly budget from the Ozark Craft Fair held at Finley River Park in October. All the money raised stays within Christian County.
