One Dead after Springfield Gas Station Shooting

One man is dead after a shooting at a Springfield gas station near the corner of Kearney and Fulbright Sunday night.

The man was brought by friends to Cox North hospital around 8 p.m.. The victim, who was in his mid-20s, reportedly gave police a description of the shooter before he died.

One of the people inside the car that dropped off the victim and then fled returned to the hospital and gave police more information about the shooting.

A 27-year-old man has been taken into custody related to the shooting.

Springfield Police officials say they are looking at surveillance video and that crime techs had worked the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released.
