Friday Deadline for Springfield Citizens to Speak at Next Council Meeting

Springfield citizens who want to speak to the City Council at their next scheduled Monday meeting will have until Friday to sign up for their opportunity to speak.

As part of the Council’s virtual meetings to comply with the city’s Stay At Home order, citizens have to sign up by the Friday before the meeting at 5 p.m. by contacting the City Clerk’s office.

Registration can take place via an online form, by emailing City Clerk Anita Cotter, or calling 417-864-1651.

Citizens then can come to Room 108 at Historic City Hall to speak to Council members through electronic means. Physical distancing requirements will be maintained and anyone who refuses to follow them could be asked to leave the building.

Also, anyone who has experienced the following will not be permitted into City Hall:

• Flu-like symptoms
• Respiratory illness (cough, difficulty breathing)
• Fever
• Travelled in the past 14 days to an affected area
• Been exposed to someone who has travelled to an affected area
• Been exposed to someone who has been evaluated for the illness or confirmed illness

Council meetings can be viewed on Mediacom cable channels 15.1, 22, and 80 and AT&T Uverse channel 99, or online through the city’s website.
