Nixa Updates Stay at Home Order

The City of Nixa’s stay at home order has been updated by Mayor Brian Steele to come in line with the Governor’s statewide order.

The order also is in line with Springfield and Greene County’s orders, as Mayor Steele wants to maintain consistency among neighboring juristictions.

The updates to the order are:

  1. Any essential business engaged in retail sales to the public shall limit the number of customers in any particular retail location at any one time to a maximum of:
    • The result of the total square feet of the building at the retail location divided by 30
      • Times twenty-five (25) percent for a retail location with square footage of less than ten thousand square feet (10,000 ft2)
      • Times ten (10) percent for a retail location with square footage of ten thousand square feet (10,000 ft2) or more.
  2. Firearm repair has been added to the list of essential businesses and, pursuant to RSMo Section 44.101, the order shall not be construed to prohibit or restrict the lawful possession, transfer, sale, transportation, storage, display, or use of firearms or ammunition during the declared state of emergency.

The amended order is in effect until April 24, 2020.
