Nixa student Brady Vaughan has been named one of 17 students in the state to win a John T. Belcher Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship of $1,000 is given to 17 students, who are then entered in a competition to win an additional $1,500 grant.
The scholarship is given by the Missouri School Boards Association’s foundation, FutureBuilders. The award is given in memory of John T. Belcher, who worked to develop innovative financing programs for Missouri school districts.
Vaughan won the award after being judged on academic performance, extracurricular activities, and an essay.
