Hy-Vee has announced restrictions on customers because of the COVID-19 outbreak and social distancing restrictions.
The store will be limiting the number of people inside the store at any time, with a “one person per cart” rule being “strongly encouraged,” according to a Facebook post. The store is asking people to designate one family members to do the shopping and to avoid group shopping.
Aisles inside the store are now marked with “one-way” signs to control the flow of customers through the store. The one way aisles are intended to keep customers from running into each other and maintaining social distance.
There will be temporary window panels installed on the checkouts to provide additional protection for their staff.
“We continue to implement additional ways to adapt at Hy-Vee, so that we can serve our customers and protect the health and wellness of those who work and shop in our stores,” Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee’s chairman, CEO and president, said in a press statement.
