In February, Nixa High School art students won 22 regional Scholastic Art Awards, and now one of those students has received national attention for their work.
Senior Ella Schober, one of two students who had won Gold Key awards in the regional competition, was named a National Medal winner for her charcoal drawing. Schober had won three Gold Key awards in the regional competition, which sent her work on to the national judging.
“To me, winning a National Medal made me realize how far I have truly come in my four years of art classes,” Schober told OI. “It shows hard work paid off and how I have developed as an artist.”
The National Medal is one of the highest honors in the art world for student artists.
