The Southern Appellate Court granted Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller’s petition to move the April 7, 2020 municipal elections to June 2, 2020.
Schoeller was joined by 26 other County Clerks in Missouri who filed entries of appearance and consent in the case.
“This petition has allowed the County Clerk’s Office to have a clear plan of action for moving the April 7th Election in conjunction with the Governor’s recent executive order,” Schoeller said in a statement. “I appreciate their quick diligence in these unprecedented times to ensure every vote and voter is protected as we work together.”
Greene County’s ballot for the June 2nd election includes candidates for positions in 7 cities, 5 school districts and a fire protection district.
Despite the move to the new date, the registration and eligibility requirements for the election remain the same as if the election was held on April 5, meaning there is no extension on absentee ballots or voter registration.
