Habitat For Humanity Closes ReStore & Offices

Habitat for Humanity of Springfield is closing facilities and delaying events to honor the city’s requirements in dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.

Here are the changes announced by Habitat:

All volunteer opportunities for Habitat have been cancelled through April 6. The move is designed to help staff maintain construction efforts while practicing social distancing.

The ReStore is closing through April 5. The closure impacts all operations of the ReStore, including retail shopping, donation drop offs and pickups, and volunteering. Habitat staff will deep clean, disinfect and organize stores.

The main office will be closed to the public until April 6. If you have an appointment scheduled with a member of the Habitat staff, contact that staff member for more information about rescheduling.

Habitat’s Tool Belts & Bow Ties event is postponed and will be rescheduled at a yet to be determined date. The winner of the “Backyard Bundle” will be announced on March 27, but the winner cannot pick up their prize until the reopening of Habitat facilities.

The Home Buyer Information Sessions scheduled through April 6th have been cancelled, but homebuyer applicants can still request an application by calling 417-829-4001 extension 105.

Tools for Life classes are cancelled through April 13.
